Hazel Grove Conservatives are encouraging local groups to use the Climate Action Now Fund.
Could your local group benefit from funding from Stockport Council? Hazel Grove Conservatives are encouraging local resident groups and organisations to make use of the fund.
The Stockport Climate Action Now (CAN) fund is available to support resident groups, communities and schools to take action. You can apply for up to £500 if you have a proposal to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The scheme is available to groups only and not individuals, this can include groups of residents on the same street for example. There are lots of activities that impact greenhouse gases that the CAN funding could support, such as:
- reducing energy use
- local and seasonal food growing or cooking
- reducing waste, reusing and repairing
- improving the local environment through planting
- encouraging or enabling sustainable travel
- raising awareness and education around climate change
Your local councillor will review your application. Funding applications will close when all the money has been spent for each ward. You can visit the SMBC democracy web page to find your ward and Councillor. You'll need to enter the postcode of where the proposal will take place.
Have a bigger idea needing over £500?
If you’re part of a constituted group with an idea that might need more funding, then you can email the CAN team to discuss it: [email protected]
