Hazel Grove Conservatives are campaigning alongside our local MP William Wragg to improve road safety on Strines Road.
Stockport Council has continued with their policy of inaction, with no further measures currently being considered until a serious accident takes place, local Conservatives feel that this policy is the wrong one and a more proactive policy should be looked at to avoid further accidents.
With continued concerns from local residents on Strines Road regarding the continued traffic accidents and issues relating to road safety. Local Conservatives are seeking to work with the Council on this matter to ask them to consider urgently options to improve road safety. The first consideration for any future measure must be road safety for both residents and road users.
Road safety issues on Strines Road remain persistent, with regular accidents and safety issues which need to be dealt with as soon as possible. That’s why we are campaigning for SMBC to bring in safety measures before there is a more serious consequence.
There must not be any further delay from Stockport Council in dealing with this issue.
