STOCKPORT LOCAL PLAN DROP-IN EVENTS
Take part in a wide-ranging consultation on Stockport Council's future plans by joining us at specially organised public events in your local area.
The Council is inviting residents to join the conversation on the Stockport Local Plan about the future of the borough through to 2035.
At the drop-in events, you can speak to a member of the Council's planning team to find out more about the Stockport Local Plan and provide your comments.
- Werneth Area, Wednesday 13th September from 6pm to 8.30pm at Werneth School, Harrytown, Stockport, SK6 3BX;
At these events, residents will also be able to learn more about the current and future transport priorities that are part of a review of the 2001 South East Manchester Multi-Modal (SEMMM) Strategy.
Residents will also have the opportunity to let us know what they think the current transport issues are across the borough and how we should address them.
The online consultation is available at www.stockport.gov.uk/localplan. It will run until 8th October 2017.
Councillor Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “Over the next two years we are committed to have an open and transparent discussion with Stockport residents and businesses regarding what land is needed to accommodate the homes, jobs, new infrastructure and local facilities we need from now until 2035.
“We understand that the issues in one area of the borough may not be the same as in others, so we want to hear from local communities about the place they live – what works, what doesn’t, what they need and what they’d like to protect.
“To enable us to deliver the best possible plan we need and want your views. We’d also like to make clear that no final decisions will be made until we have reviewed all consultation feedback.”
